Yasmina Reza is a French playwright, director, actress, novelist and screenwriter. Her theatrical works are adapted in more than 35 languages and performed all over the world on stages as diverse as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Almeida Theater, the Berliner, the Schaubühne in Berlin, the Burgteater of Vienna, Bernard B. Jacobs on Broadway, etc. She has won many prestigious theatrical awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award (U.K.) and the Tony Award (U.S.A.) for Art and God of Carnage and several times the Moliere (France). God of carnage was created in 2007 by Jurgen Gösch at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and at the Berliner Ensemble, and staged in France at Théâtre Antoine by the author, with a cast including Isabelle Huppert. The play is currently performed all over the world. In 2011, Roman Polansky directed the film adaptation, for which Yasmina won the french cinema award for best screenplay. Her last piece, Bella Figura, was created at the Schaubühne in Berlin by Thomas Ostermeier in 2015 and in France by Yasmina in 2017 in Toulon and at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris. She directed her first film Chicas in 2010. In 2018 she performed in her play On Arthur Schopenhauer's Sledge in Paris. She has written several novels, Babylone, her latest one published in 2016 received the Prix Renaudot, one of France main litterary award. She lives in Paris.
